D. Christopher Caldwell, M.D. joined Radiology Associates of Atlanta in 1999 and currently serves as a staff Interventional Radiologist and Diagnostic Radiologist at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA and at Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville, GA.
Dr. Caldwell completed a fellowship in Interventional Radiology and Special Procedures at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. Prior to his fellowship, he received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. After completing an internship in Internal Medicine and Surgery at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C., Dr. Caldwell served as a Diagnostic Radiology resident at Georgetown from 1994-1998, acting as Chief Resident during his last year there. In 1998, Dr. Caldwell received his certification as a Diplomat of the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology.
A member of multiple professional societies, Dr. Caldwell is affiliated with the Society of Interventional Radiology, American College of Radiology, Radiologic Society of North America and others. He has authored a number of research papers and has lectured on a variety of interventional subjects.
Dr. Caldwell’s particular interests in Interventional Radiology include all vascular procedures, diagnostic angiography, angioplasty and stent placement, chemoembolization, TIPS, thrombolytic therapy, tunneled line and port placement, biliary procedures, genitourinary procedures, dialysis fistula management, vertebroplasty, and kyphoplasty.
Personal interests of Dr. Caldwell include travel, tennis, basketball, weight training, and mountain biking, but mostly spending time with his wife and three children.
